Response to four key questions

The questions:
Q1. Should the state government become involved in the approval process for large-scale developments such as Caloundra South and Halls Creek?
A1. The State Government already are involved regarding planning laws but all planning applications have been delegated to the relevant local authority in this case SCRC which can be appealed either way
Q2. How do you feel about the sale or lease of state assets?
A2. To be honest it's all about living within one's means - as a general rule you should never sell an asset if it generates income you should not sell it - the same applies to leasing - But if the exclusive right to produce a good or service is to be bestowed this again is another opportunity to bestow a monopoly the sale should be engineered to break up a State monopoly so that no single non Government operator has more than between 20%- 33% of the market so it is not so much whether sale or lease rather how the asset is regulated and how free and fair competition can be maintained
Q3. What are your top three priorities for the Sunshine Coast?
A3A. Free solar power for the people of KAWANA to every voter household in the State Electorate of KAWANA
(15,000 dwellings @ $8,000 = $120 million Less 20% for those already installed gives $96 million to be installed commercially less 50% federal government rebate) Total cost $48 million Estimated at a one tenth of the council domestic rates revenue.

A3B. Reduction in the cost of government and direct taxations eg rates permits Levy's registrations licences payable on of between $200- $600 a time every month of the year and concomitant interference by government
Grow manufacturing from 6% of GDP to 33%
A3C Complete de regulation of employment taxes (of which there are 5) reduction in Bureaucracy and taxation and create a business friendly environment to actually generate employment and jobs as well as wealth and taxation to pay for essential services such as health dentistry and care of the elderly schools hospitals and national security Q4. What, in your mind, are the key qualities needed in an effective politician? A4. intelligence and good looks Lol Vision and foresight hard work and determination Ability to plan ahead and above all apply the same rules to government as you do to business namely to have fun and make a profit & not go mad and kill yourself This involves applying the three golden rules of business You have to work as hard at EARNING money as you do at BUYING (expenditure) and negotiation for value for money And thirdly SAVING Or minimising costs if it does involve expenditure this last one seems lost on most government at every level Experience and the capacity to make an effective contribution with a proven track record of doing so An ability to prioritise PUNCH Magazine weekly
